Description:
PRICE REDUCED!  M44 Mosin-Nagant made in 1953 in Budapest Izhevsk arsenal.  Caliber 7.62x54 R. , Serial number "BE2722".  Adjustable ramp sight.  Barrel shank is stamped "02" (code for Hungary) "1953", and the Hungarian (not the mandated USSR) crest.  Go figure!  This piece was made during the build-up of the '56 Hungarian/USSR revolt (which the US didn't support for fear of the USSR...ended tragically for the Hungarians)... The barrel, stock and bolt have matching number  Bore has some pitting but the rifling is nicely crisp.  Wood is good condition, has "B-02 stamp (Budapest, Hungary code 02), some minor dents but no cracks.  Folding bayonet is in good condition, strong snap, no play.  Blueing good overall, with wear-edges polished slightly.  Original faded O.D.canvas sling, typical Mosin-Nagant style with leather end-straps.

This rifle could well have been used by the Hungarian rebels against their Red tyrants, but this isn't verifyable.  I've shot it and it is as accurate as can be expected by my 80 year-old ability!  I'm selling off my collection because it's time.  I'm in no hurry to sell - I want my collection to go to persons who appreciate the history behind the weapons and their workmanship.  I'll be listing my other pieces as time goes on.
