SMITH & WESSON 2ND MODEL .44 SPECIAL HAND EJECTOR WITH 6 1/2" BARREL. Serial number "245XX" on square butt. Assembly numbers on crane and frame match along with military Eaglehead over "S2" on frame as well under crane. Eaglehead denotes use of miltary surplus parts by factory after the WW1. Crisp two line address on barrel ends with 1909 date. Lanyard ring may also denote military repurpose prior to being professionally reblued and original walnut grips lacquerd over without being sanded or checkering recut(will clean nicely if need be).Tight lockup and cycles perfectly. Sights upgraded with new front blade and rear drift blade cut into sight plain(expertly done). All screws unturned. Mint bore, rifling and chambers. One of Elmer Keiths favorites and this one would make a nice shooter as someone tunred it into a target model.
