FLINTLOCK NORTHWEST INDIAN TRADE FUSIL BY J..E. BARNETT CIRCA 1870’S. 44” overall with 29” smoothbore octagon/round .58 caliber barrel with British proofs at the breech. Lock stamped with the Hudson’s Bay Co. intaglio “TOMBSTONE FOX” above the letters “EB” for J. E. Barnett. Brass “SERPENT” side plate and brass mounts. All original and in as found dcondition. Well used but has all the lock parts. Large trigger guard for use with gloves. Stock with old worm holes and circular Hudson’s Bay acceptance cartouche at right side near butt plate. Very rarely seen and were heavily used by the Indians and thus have a low survival rate. Lock in working order. 100% original in every respect. SOLD Antique: Yes |
