Description:
This is a "last ditch" late WW2 CZ Model 27 made under Nazi occupation of the CZ factory in Prague in probably late 1944.  Rather than having the CZ maker's mark it is coded "fnh", an attempt to hide where the pistol was being manufactured.  This last ditch pistol has a phosphate finish, used only in last phases of this pistol's production.  The phosphate finish was much faster and economical than the blue finish used previously at a time when the Germans were looking for any shortcut they could find in arms production.  Another unusual feature of this pistol is it lacks the "WaA76" Waffenamts that had always been applied previously, with the Germans choosing to just stamp the slide and barrel of this pistol with the Nazi eagle test firing proof stamps only.  The fit and finish of this pistol is a testament to the tough times that the Germans were going thru.  This pistol lacks just about any polishing whatsoever.  The machining marks made in the metal were left as-is, and the parts were fit just well enough to function reliably.  Comparing this pistol to a pre-war Model 27 would lead some to believe that they were two different makers entirely.  The condition of this Model 27 shows some hard use.  It retains approximately 75 to 80% of the factory phosphate finish.  There are some darkened areas on the pistol where there has previously been some surface rust.  The 1-piece original grips have a repair on the right side where it had cracked at some point.  You can see this area in the pictures, and a little of the glue used to repair it is visible on the exterior of the grip.  The bore on this CZ has remained in excellent condition however.  The rifling looks great and it still has nicely defined lands and grooves.  There is no pitting or erosion visible.  The action on this pistol is nice and tight and everything works 100% like it was designed to.  If this pistol could talk it certainly would have some interesting stories to tell.  If you have been looking for a nice honest and original Nazi "last ditch" Model 27, this would be a great candidate!
**The WW2 German Heer (Army) recruiters armband is not included for the $450 price but can be purchased for an additional $100.
