Description:
SOLD Pending Funds / German Model 1883 Reichsrevolever with Holster, made by Erfurt with Unit Marking, serial # 4166, cal. 11mm German Ordnance, 4 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that shows some scattered light to moderate oxidation but strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this 1896 dated revolver retain about 80% original blue with some light peppery pitting on barrel, scattered areas fading to brown, freckling and a few small dings on the rear of the barrel. The smooth walnut grips rate very good as cleaned with an older varnish finish, scattered dings, handling marks and scratches. The cylinder number is 4221 mismatched but the remaining visible parts including the grips are matching to the frame. There is a unit marking on the back strap read "1.M.C.D.23". This revolver includes a brown leather M1883 holster that is maker marked "F.H.Thieme/Magdeburg/1914". The belt straps on the holster appear to have been relocated, the bottom fastener is a bit loose and needs stitching or a glue repair to keep it in place. The holster shows overall minor scattered crazing, dings and scratches but nothing I would call alarming, overall it’s a nice holster with its overall condition as very good. This revolvers overall condition is good plus - very good as described and photographed.  Inv.: # 12-144
