Description:
R.B.Rodda underlever hammer double rifle in caliber .577 Snyder. 26" Damascus barrels with beautiful bores. Three flip up sights 100 yds 150 yds 250 yds. 90% Damascus finish. This rifle is in its original leather case with R B Rodda label. A label on the case has been translated as a gift from one Maharaja to another. The recipient is assumed to be the Maharaja of Mysore taking the small numbers "K50" on the bottom of the stock as the area it was located in. The barrel flats are stamped with "25".The hammers are rebounding with a pinned forend. The action, hammers and side plates have fine scroll engraving. The nicley figured splinter forearm and pistol grip buttstock are solid with crisp checkering. Action, hammers and sidelocks retain about 40% fading case colors. Case is in fair condition containing a .577 bullet mold, brass capper/decapper, brass case crimper, cleaning rod and a turn screw. Recoil pad has hardened with age. The right hammer safety does not function but it is otherwise mechanically fine. The case has its original green felt lining.
