We can cruise the internet looking for Parker shotguns and it seems there are many guns for sale, especially in the popular 12ga.  If we really open our eyes and look at the offerings it becomes clear that only the lower grades are numerous, with Grade 5 (BH Grades) guns being scarce and Grade 6 (AH Grades) guns rarely seen for sale.  They only made 189 AH Grade 12ga. guns during the history of Parker guns, and likely only 160 or so remain on the planet.  It makes sense they are rarely offered for sale.  There is not one genuine AH Grade Parker offered for sale at the time of this writing on any of the internet sites.  More often than not if you see an AHE Parker it is an upgrade from a lower grade gun.  In fact, I have sold several over the last few years in the $20K range that were excellent upgrades and sold as such.  The gun offered here, a Parker AHE 12ga. sn73302, is a factory documented Grade 6 gun shipped in 1892, making it an antique that we can ship to any address in the country with no FFL required.  The gun shipped with Damascus barrels and in the 1960’s was sent to Griffin & Howe to have steel barrels added.  G & H shipped the gun to Belgium and had a set of 26” and a set of 30” fluid steel barrels fit to the gun.  At the same time the gun was converted to an ejector gun and was likely restocked there as well.  So, we have an exquisitely engraved original Parker action, trigger guard, forend iron, and skeleton butt plate that shipped as an AH Grade gun and two sets of modern steel barrels fitted to perfection by the finest Belgium gunsmiths to make a gorgeous 2-barrel set cased in a fine leather case.  Look closely at the engraving, with the miniscule fine English scroll, beaded fences, 9 vignettes with detailed game scenes (2 on the bottom, 2 on each side, 2 on the breech balls, and one on the trigger guard bow), incredibly ornate borders surrounding all…this is the finest example of hand engraving you will witness, done in the day of push tools and hammers, no electricity or pneumatics.  That is what you are paying for when buying this gun.  The stock work is expertly done, with gorgeous figured Turkish walnut, perfect wood-to-metal fit, perfect checkering, and great shooting dimensions.  The barrels are nicely balanced and perfectly fit as well, and the mechanics are superb.  The gun weighs about 7 1/4lbs. with either set of barrels and the chokes are set up for any field or clays sport you may enjoy.  The only flaw are the buggered screws that we did not have time to fix.  If you would like them all perfect, including engraving, we can have new screws made for less than $500, and have it done within a few months of purchase.  We have priced this gun to sell quickly, so don’t hesitate or she’ll be gone.  Thanks for looking, and enjoy the photos of this engraving.  It is special even amongst other Parker Grade 6 guns!
