Description:
This is the U.S. Navy Model 1870 Rolling Block rifle with a 32 5/8” barrel. The barrel retains over 80% original finish of which 45% is blue and the balance has turned a plume blue color. The receiver has over 55% dark case colors. P/H.B.R. is stamped on the left rear barrel and a Navy anchor on the rear barrel top. There is a nice inspector cartouche on the left wrist and a rack #30 on the left rear butt. All of the markings are sharp and crisp. The bore is very good, bright and shiny with strong rifling and only a small amount of black powder corrosion. The mechanical function is very good, tight and crisp.
