Description:
Serial #155557, .32 S&W, 2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome little revolver that retains 75-80% of the original blue finish with flaking to mellow plum-brown on the balance, mostly on the frame and cylinder. There are some minor spots of freckling within the cylinder cylinder flutes, and muted color case-hardening remains on the trigger. The factory original S&W mother-of-pearl grips are in excellent condition with only a few very minor blemishes on either panel. The revolver is accompanied by a 2016 dated S&W factory letter that lists a shipping date of October 18, 1906, to Norvell Shapleigh Hardware Co. of St. Louis, MO, and confirms both the barrel length and the pearl grips. Interestingly, the barrel and latch are actually numbered to a different gun, but , as the letter confirms, the barrel is the same configuration as the original. This is a terrific little S&W “Bicycle Gun", in very good-fine condition, with seldom seen, original pearl grips. FFL or C&R
