It features a full-length magazine. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line, New Haven address ahead of the rear sight and "44 WCF" at the breech. The upper tang has the three-line model and patent date marking. The serial is clearly stamped on the underside of the frame. The gun have the saddle ring and crescent buttplate and no forend cap.There appears to be a hairline check in the wrist on the left side but not of any consequence. The rifle seems devoid of any finish on the metal and appears to have a dull, old varnish finish. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves,some scattered pits, but is surprisingly nice.
