This Sculpture was originally commissioned for the 1992 Republican National Convention held at the Astrodome in Houston. The number one casting of "defiance" was presented to President George Bush, the number two casting was presented to Vice President Dan Quayle, California Governor, Pete Wilson was presented with the number three casting. This quote is from Edd Hayes expressing his thought about "Defiance"; "While doing research for this sculpture, I became very fascinated with the African Elephant and his problems. I came away with a lot of respect for these majestic creatures. The title "Defiance", I feel, fits well as to the plight of the African Elephant.. Your acquisition of "Defiance" will include a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by the Artist and a descriptive letter. The item weighs approximately 20 kilos and stands 26" tall and 18" at the base. Only 50 were cast. KTF & Collectibles, Inc. is offering #28 from the Kimberly Gaynor Collection.
