Up for sale today is a US Springfield M1 Garand serial no. 6084472 chambered in caliber .30-06. This outstanding, very late-production six-million series M1 Garand shows no signs of arsenal rebuild and is to be considered original to its production period. The rifle has an outstanding bore, with a throat erosion reading of 1.5 and a muzzle wear reading of 1. The barrel date of this rifle is “SA 4-56.” Infantry rifles (that is, rifles that were never built into National Match rifles) in the six million serial number range are rare. Finish on both metal and wood parts are outstanding. A fantastic piece of M1 Garand history and a great addition to the discerning connoisseur’s collection.
