A stunning and rare P-38 pistol 480 code production in a true 97%+ original factory condition with its matching 1940 holster...this is bright blue finish on the entirety of the pistol, not faded, not plum and not patina...bright Walther blue, simply fantastic. All matching #'s including all small internal parts and grips. The only noticeable wear on the original factory bright blue is a trace on the left side of the muzzle and a small amount on the left side leading edge of the slide. There are only a couple very small hairline handling marks elsewhere, mentioned for accuracy. The finish inside the the frame, barrel and grip area are stunning and matching as well. There are no matching magazines, a "jvd" code and a (2) 359 waa circa 42 were with the pistol. This P-38 has been in the same prominent collection since the end of WW2 and was brought back by the Veteran/Collector. Provenance is with the pistol. This is most likely one of the highest condition "480" Code P-38's in existence and would be impossible to upgrade. This serial # 2845 is mentioned as a known p38 480 code in the new book "The P.38 Pistol" by Alexander Krutzek on page 61. USPS priority mail is 25.00...shipped from FFL to FFL or C&R
