This is a stunning example of a mid-war production Ithaca 1911a1 pistol that retains practically all of its original parkerizing with just a few tiny handling marks from shifting inside the box. The gun came from a Veteran’s family and is still in its original box with four total magazines and some 1943 dated ammo. All the markings are sharp with crisp ordnance wheel cartouche on the right tang. All correct, including the barrel and the grips. The box is an original Ithaca box that is of very distinctive construction, which is different from the other craft boxes used by Colt and Remington Rand. It is in excellent condition as well with an original Ithaca ink stamp on the top cover. Excellent condition bore. Ithaca had the 3rd lowest production of 1911s during the war, after the Union Swith &Signal and Singer. Also includes an original holster. Such pristine boxed examples are near impossible to find.
