EXCEPTIONAL 1886 .45-70 OCTAGON RIFLE, #77XXX, WITH FACTORY LETTER SHOWING SHIPMENT IN 1893. This 1886 retains nearly all the deep factory blue on the barrel and magazine with only the most minor of edge wear, exc. sharp markings, original buckhorn rear sight with small Winchester blade front sight. The mottled gray receiver still shows some small areas of vivid case color around the rear portion of the loading gate assembly and in the most protected areas. Fine blue remains on the bolt, fine+ wood has a little fancier grade of walnut than standard with good wood to metal fit and only light handling marks, forend cap retains some dark faded case color. BORE IS MINT AND BRIGHT with a very tight action. A great condition .45-70 octagon rifle, factory letter included.
