Description:
Spreewerk, German P.38 in 9mm Luger. 5" barrel, war-time machining marks on metal surfaces and black bakelite grips. The left side of the slide is marked with "P.38, cyq" (Spreewerk) with no date, and serial number, "2550 j", and below the slide, on the frame is the serial number, "2550 j", and a miltary acceptance stamp, "eagle over 88". The right side of the slide is marked with the same military acceptance stamp, "eagle over 88", a Nazi military test proof mark, "eagle over swastika inside circle" (Heerswaffenamt 1939-1945), and another "eagle over 88". There are no marks on the right side of the frame. The front of the barrel block is stamped with the serial number, 2550 j. The magazine is marked with military acceptance stamp code letters, "jvd", which was manufactured by Erste Nordboehmische Metallwarenfabrik, and the back side of the magazine at the bottom is stamped with the "eagle over 88" stamp.
