Description:
Colt Model 1855 Revolving Rifle, this Colt is a very interesting one, the barrel was shortened during the period of use and the cylinder is stamped with a RM for Republica Mexicana. This is the only one of its type known with that marking as of now. The rifle itself is of course the scarce and desirable variation, I’m sure this Colt saw a lot of Wild West useage although it doesn’t show it, other then the metal being cleaned at some time, the rifle shows a very good condition, all the markings are sharp and all the serial numbers match. The action functions flawlessly. The rifle has a very fine bore. The nipples are also very fine. The stock shows scratches but no cracks. The butt has a compartment for a cleaning rod which one piece is enclosed in it, the other part for it is stuck in the forearm to create a ram rod type look. Overall this is a very interesting Colt that would make a great addition to any collection. I gladly offer a 3 day inspection period, feel free to call anytime, if I don’t answer, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you shortly. Thank you!
