Scarce C&R Eligible Revolver with Special Order Knuckler
Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Safety Automatic Double Action 5-shot Revolver with Custom Knuckle Attachment in .32 S&W, made circa the 1920s. Only about 6,000 were produced on a custom order basis. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the Roaring Twenties. 5 shots of .32 S&W plus a knuckle duster attachment made a formidable weapon!
The left side of the barrel is marked “PAT’D APR.6.86.FEB15.87.MAY 10.87./MAR.13.88.AUG.25.96.PAT’S PENDING”. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/-FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.-“
The overall condition is good. The original nickel finish is about 75%. The markings are legible. The original trademark hard rubber grips are in good shape and feature the Iver Johnson owl. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent.
