S&W "BICYCLE MODEL" .32 Safety Hammerless Revolver
Excellent Early 20th Century Pocket Revolver
Here we present a Smith & Wesson “Bicycle Model” .32 Safety Hammerless Double Action Revolver, made circa 1907 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This represents a scarce example of the 2-inch model with all the markings being on the sides of the barrel instead of the top of the barrel rib due to the brevity of the barrel. This revolver was designed to be sleek and streamlined with no hammer and a grip safety and an automatic ejector. This revolver was equipped with mother-of-pearl grips with S&W trademark medallions.
The left side of the barrel is marked “.32 S.&W. CTG”. The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS U.S.A./PAT’D OCT. 9, 1885, AUG. 4 1883. APR. 9 1889”.
The overall condition is excellent. The original blue finish is 95%. The case colors on the hammer are vibrant. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The bore is sharp and bright. The mother of pearl grips are very fine. The action on this revolver is excellent. Here is a fantastic & highly collectible S&W revolver!
