Antique SMITH & WESSON Model 1-1/2 .32 Revolver
Fine Nickel & Rosewood Carry Revolver
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ Second Issue Revolver, manufactured circa 1871 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This small, single action revolver holds 5 shots of .32 rimfire long. It was specifically designed to be a pocket gun, being very small and light. This design was based on S&W’s flagship model the No. 1 in .22 Rimfire. It was between the sizes of the No. 1 and the martially sized offering the No. 2 “Old Army”. This one is finished in nickel plate and features very nice rosewood grips.
The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. PAT. APR. 3.55.JULY.5.59&NOV.21.65”.
The overall condition is fine. The nickel finish is about 95% intact. The case colors on the hammer are still very bright. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling. The rosewood grips are in fine shape. The action on this revolver is excellent. Here is a very well-preserved 19th Century S&W!
