E.J Churchill XXV (25”) Hercules model. S/N#7437 manufacture date (circa 1958-1960) Self Opener, and auto ejector. Full coverage English Scroll & Foliate engraving. With barrel breach wedge scroll engraving very tastefully done. Chokes: Right: CYL. Left: I CYL. Stock: DAC 1 3/16” X DAH 1 7/8” X LOP of 15 ¼” to a checkered butt. It is utterly amazing that this 100% original example survived without being altered, or the stock being cut. Weight 6Lbs even. The gun is in original British proof of 2 ¾” and 1 1/4oz. This can be seen in the following photos. This is a London best gun in every sense of the word. It is the historic invention of Robert Churchill with his patented tapered game rib. This gave the illusion of a much longer barrels. This was also accomplished by the straight grip stock and the longer length of pull. This gives the gun the handling characteristics of a 28, or 30” barreled gun without the cumbersome weight and length in the bird covers. This would make a fantastic upland companion.
