Description:
Two fine craftsmen (both deceased) collaborated to produce this delightful custom Mauser on a 98 action with superb stockmaking by a third person who could be Biesen judging from the fat Fleur-de-Lis panels and the Oregon provenance. Rifle appears unfired since completion. Trigger bow is highly recontoured, bolt knob has been replaced and nickeled, and a timney side-safety trigger fitted. Action, bottom metal, barrel, scope base all fully engraved in shaded American scroll w. elk scene on bottom plate. Stockwork is phenomenal, Niedner checkered and spurred buttplate, recessed sling studs, ebony grip cap and forend tip enhance a superbly finished and checkered ?French walnut stock. Only the slightest handling marks distinguish this from a rifle completed yesterday.
