Description:
Winchester Model 21 Field 12 Gauge Side by Side
FACTORY ORIGINAL, KNOCK-OUT WOOD, PROVENANCE!

General Specs: Winchester, Year 1952, 12 Gauge, 8lbs, SxS
Serial Number: 25908

When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done.  The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN.  Most double gun enthusiasts are keenly aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself.  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.  This gorgeous M21, sn25908 made in 1952, is a great example.  Factory original and matching the Cody Firearms Museum letter in every way, it belonged to an actor of fame in the early and mid-1900’s named Happy Felton.  Felton played early movie rolls, hosted radio programs, and was most famous for his “Happy Felton’s Knot Hole Gang” that was a pre-game television show for the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball games in the early 1950’s.  The gold shield in the belly of the stock has his name engraved in it.  The wood is figured far beyond most Field Grade guns, and the gun was well cared for with the barrels retaining 99% factory blue and the receiver retaining 95% factory blue.  The 28” barrels still have the factory M/F chokes with excellent bores.  The gun was shipped with a factory pad as stated in the letter.  The only alteration was some stock finish added behind the pistol grip checkering and well done…otherwise an untouched Model 21 with outstanding wood and some interesting provenance.  Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate on this one!  Thanks for looking.
