Description:
Browning Superposed 20 Gauge Over/Under

DIANA GRADE, SUPERLIGHT, OVER/UNDER, CASED!

General Specs: Browning, Year 1974, 20 Gauge, 5lbs 11oz, O/U
Serial Number: 4724 V73

The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.   In 1969 Browning introduced the Superposed "SUPERLIGHT" in the 20ga. and finally was born a true upland bird gun.  A typical Browning Lightning model in 20ga. weighs about 6 1/2lbs.  At 5lbs. 11oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, this 20 bore Superlight is over 3/4lb. lighter!  This is a dynamic upland bird gun, with its straight hand stock, rounded frame, and schnabel forend that can be carried all day without fatigue.  This gun, sn4274 V73 built in 1974, IS 1 OF ONLY 81 DIANA GRADE 20ga. SUPERLIGHT GUNS EVER MADE.  Better yet, the gun retains 99.5% factory original condition with only a few light handling marks in the wood.  Speaking of wood, this Diana Grade Superlight has the nicest figured wood I have ever seen on a Diana Grade, being a high contrasting English walnut.  The all hand-engraved Diana Grade metal work was engraved by factory Master Engraver Alfonse Merachal, with deep-relief game scenes, shaded backgrounds, and wonderful bank-note style scroll.  Unaltered and in factory original condition THIS IS A RARE, INVESTMENT QUALITY GUN THAT WILL INCREASE IN VALUE AS YOU ENJOY ITS USE.  Cased in a $450 Americase aluminum case that houses the Briley Ultra-light custom fitted 28ga. and .410 bore tube sets ($1300 cost included in the selling price) you can also shoot the “PEE-WEE” gauges for your smaller birds and clay target events.  This is a very valuable package with $1750 worth of extras and priced to sell quickly.  If you have never handled a Browning Superposed Superlight 20ga. you will not believe the dynamic balance and handling characteristics.  It is the only vintage over/under that can compare to the finest English side by sides in balance and feel.  Don’t miss this great opportunity to own a very special Over/Under.  Thanks for looking!
