Description:
This Colt 70 Series MkIV Government Model is a scarce variation only offered for a few years, and it is in excellent all-original condition. This "B70" suffix 70 Series 1911 is a factory two tone model in Electroless Nickel and Gloss Blue only offered for a period between 1979 to 1981. The majority of the gun is electroless nickel with some of the small parts in high gloss blue. It featured black Colt-branded Pachmayer rubber wrap-around grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions. This example has been in storage for the majority of it's life and has been shot very little. The electroless nickel finish is 98% or better, as is the blued small parts. The exterior of the barrel shows only some very minor blue finish wear at the muzzle end, typical of a 70 Series with the tight collett type bushing that has NOT been shot more than a handful of times. The bore is minty and bright, with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling, and zero pitting or erosion. The factory Pachmayer grips are also in excellent condition, with no tears or signs of wear. Everything on this Colt works 100% like the day it left the factory almost 40 years ago. The action is smooth and tight and locks up solidly. All of the controls function perfectly. This beautiful and clean Colt 70 Series 1911 variation would be a great addition to any Colt 1911 collection. Comes with one original 7-round magazine. Sorry, no box.
