Description:
This is a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 rifle in .270 Winchester. The serial number dates to 1952. The 24 inch barrel is in Very Good condition with some wear at the muzzle and a scratch on the left side about an inch from the muzzle. The bore is bright and shiny. The folding leaf rear and ramped front bead iron sights are still present. The action is Very Good with the finish fading and some wear on the bolt knob. Bottom metal shows some blue wear and a few light scratches. There is no visible pitting. The checkered walnut stock has been refinished with flattened checkering, and the steel Niedner style buttplate is proud. New varnish has been applied. This rifle comes equipped with a classic El Paso Weaver K3 scope with clear optics in 2 piece Weaver mounts that is included in the price of the rifle. The scope and mounts will not be removed and the rifle repriced without them.
