This is an original Winchester barreled action, with a mix of other parts, just like it should be. 70+ years after WW2, if some dude at a gunshow hands you a Winchester carbine with all Winchester parts and a nicely cartouched "Winchester" stock- and says it's "all original", you know he's full of crap. More likely it's been put together with various cobbled together W parts and a stock with fake W cartouches. This gun is just like it should be in the real world. It has a gorgeous original M2 potbelly stock. Beautiful old growth walnut, not sanded or refinished, no fake cartouches. Just like it came out of Uncle Sam's factory to be used as a replacement stock when the original one with all the pretty stamps fell apart after a couple of months in the war zone. The mag catch is correct for a full auto M2, the type II rear sight is an Inland (H.I.), magazine is Inland (U), Type III Barrel band has what looks like an off circle O in a diamond on the left side. Barrel has a partial W about an inch and a half behind the front sight. It's got an Underwood trigger housing, Type 1 Underwood slide and a flat bolt marked with a 36S on the lug. That's the important stuff, and I will leave it at that. You should have a pretty good idea what we have here. The color on all of the metal is that uniform old green that can't be duplicated. Pretty sure the sling is post WW2. If I didn't mention it, the bore is bright and PERFECT. What's not to love? $35 shipping to the lower 48 and 3% surcharge for using a CC. SOLD |
