Description:
Limited edition 912/950 print. Original pencil signature. Well framed and matted. 18" x 27". Des Moines artist. Reece is best known for his waterfowl.  He has won an unparalleled number of Duck Stamp competitions, five in all, with his first federal Duck Stamp in 1948. He has also illustrated several books. The first one, "Iowa Fish and Fishing," made such an impression that Life Magazine commissioned him to paint the game fish of North America for a special color spread. Also a writer, he has written and illustrated The Waterfowl, Art of Maynard Reece, and Bird Art of Maynard Reece.  "lt is possible that more people possess a wildlife print from a Reece painting than from any other wildlife artist."  From the archives of the T.D.
