SCARCE Antique Frank WESSON Superposed Pistol
1 of Only 3,000 Double Barrel Swivel Pistols
Here we present an antique Frank Wesson Superposed Double Barrel Pistol, made circa 1873, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Frank Wesson was the younger brother of Daniel B. Wesson, of Smith & Wesson, as well as Edwin Wesson, who was also a highly-esteemed gunsmith in the mid-to-late-1800s. This pistol was made for 19th Century concealed carry. Many think of this period in America as a time when everyone had a Colt Single Action Army, but in fact, many, if not most people carried pocket sized pistols like this one. Some carried single shot Deringers, while some carried small caliber revolvers. This pistol is chambered in .32 rimfire short, and the barrels pivot for a second shot. Only about 3,000 of these were made.
This specimen is in good condition. The brass and iron wear a dark, aged patina. The markings are still legible. The serial numbers match, frame and grips. The grips are in very good condition. The bores are in good condition.
