Description:
This is a very interesting Winchester 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine with Center fire conversion. The forend has been removed and the lower forward portion of the frame has been blended into the barrel and magazine tube to be reminicient of a late Henry the 103xxx s/n and lack of a Henry drop seem to preclude this being a factory reused or modified frame as does the normally found pits under the forend location. There is traces of barrel address visible the bore is about a 5 and less dark than most 66's one encounters. Some replacement screws are evident as well.  The butt stock has been tastefully carved with an eagle on both sides and honestly the work is very good.  Trap door butt plate and original saddle ring and staple. It really is a cool old gun that presents very well.
