Special order..grade "A". 16 gauge 32" barrel. 1899  serial (37998). Brown twist barrrel. This gun has been untouched for 40 years (storage). No other ithaca hammer gun grade A has been found for this year to be 16 gauge or 32" barrel. (rare). No other ithaca hammer gun of any age has been found to have 32" All others are 30" or shorter. According to Walter snyders book " Ithaca gun company from the beginning" Ithaca only produced 12 ga & 10 ga in Grade A. More research is currently being done but this is likly the OLDEST Ithaca hammergun in 16 gauge that still exist. This gun has a great unmolested finish, locks tight . One can tell this was almost never used! Dark patina on stock. Just an excellent example . Barrel finish still has all the color one would expect..If you find any thing older (hammer gun)or with a 32" barrel in 16 gauge . email me.
