INDIAN WARS U.S. MODEL 1881 CAVALRY MILLS PATENT .45-70 CAL. CARTRIDGE BELT. 46” overall and all original including the buckle which was often replaced. With original integral Light Cavalry Saber hook. Reference see Dorsey’s “AMERICAN MILITARY BELTS AND RELATED EQUIPMENTS” pp. 80-81 for a detailed and interesting history of the historic and scarce belt. Very good to fine overall with leather showing light crazing and wear but sound. Fabric with nice even aging. Scarce Apache Wars era Cavalry belt.
