Description:
This high-grade American classic, which was manufactured in 1900, is properly reconditioned and ready for another century of hunting and shooting.  The Circasian walnut stock and forearm have a hand-rubbed stock-oil finish.  The 30-inch fine Damascus steel barrels are visually attractive and have no pits or dents on the exterior or in the bores.  The receiver and other metal parts show wear but are without pitting or scratches.  The engraving is likewise softened in places where one would expect on a gun that has spent time in the field.

The barrels have the original extra-full (.040) chokes.  [If a buyer desires, seller will open chokes without charge.]  The chambers are 2-5/8 inches, and the bores 9 inches from the breech are both .735.  The gun is on a number 2 frame and weighs 7 pounds 14 ounces.  The drop at the comb is 1-7/8 inches and at the heel 2-7/8 inches.  Length of pull is 14-1/4 inches to the end of a period Hawkins recoil pad.  The wall thicknesses for the right barrel 9 inches from the muzzle are .030/.035/.027, and at the middle of the barrel are .038/.038/.030.  The wall thicknesses for the left barrel are .031/.032/.027 and .037/.038/.032 respectively.  The pull for both triggers is approximately 5 pounds.  The gun is cast 1/8 inch off for the right-handed shooter.  It locks up tight and is on face.  All serial numbers, 95622, match.

The listed price of the gun does not include shipping costs paid by buyer.  The inspection period is 7 days from receipt.  This shotgun has been fired on multiple occasions using low pressure shells produced for Damascus-barreled shotguns by RST Corporation.  However, as for any antique or vintage shotgun, and especially one over a hundred years old, it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by his or her gunsmith before firing and then only use shells that produce pressures for which the gun was designed.  The gun carries a 30-day warrantee, during which seller will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and the return shipping cost.  Please do not hesitate to call with questions Stephen Wesbrook, 703-625-4830; Doublegun Preservation, LLC -- Preserving late 19th and early 20th century double shotguns.
