Description:
Serial #H1424, 7.92mm Mauser, 23 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that has light freckling within the grooves. This is a “LA CORUNA" marked rifle that started out as a Model 1916 Short Rifle in 7mm, but was converted by the Spanish government to match the Model 1943 specs (but with the straight-handled bolt retained). The metal has 80-85% of an overall armory reblued finish remaining with minor freckling throughout, as well as some small areas of mild pinprick pitting. The mismatched bolt has a mottled gray patina with some mild pinprick pitting on the handle. The walnut stock has an overall revarnish over numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes, and the Spanish stock cartouche is still just visible on the right side. An original metal cleaning rod is included, and the rifle rates good-very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
