Description:
Hard to Find 1866 Rifle...most were carbines. Has good solid bore with good to better rifling. Wood is proud to the receiver and looks to have some very old oil added to it in place, may just be old oil buildup. Wood is in proper shape considering the age of the rife and does have some period wear but in great shape. No cracks in wood or major issues.
Receiver, butplate and fore end patina is awesome and looks fantastic. Good lettering on barrel, 24” Barrel, everything functions as it should on the rifle. Barrel / Magazine has surface rust / pitting like most of the 1866 but not ecessive.
Gun cycles fine and seems to be ready for another 100 years. Look at my other Winchester s or ask if you are looking for something else. I have a lot of Winchesters that I will be selling to fund some other interests.
