The Radom is considered one of the best sidearms of World War II. It very much reminds one of a 1911 or a Browning High Power, and it shares many of the features in addition to some that are unique to the Radom. After the invasion of Poland by the Third Reich in 1939, production of these pistols was restarted, so that by 1945, the Radom was the third most prevalent sidearm in German service. The factory at Radom was also famous for its sly resistance efforts to the Nazis as they duplicated serial numbers on guns to deliver them to resistance fighters outside of the factory. This pistol features the very nicely executed high-quality, polished blue finish and the stock lug cut of the earlier pistols. Eventually, the takedown lever and stock cut were deleted, and the finish cheapened. The left side of the slide is marked “F.B. RADOM VIS MOD. 35. Pat. Nr. 15567.” German WaffenAmts of “Stick Eagle/77” are found one over the other on the slide and frame. The rear of the markings on the slide bear an eagle over a swastika and an “Eagle/623”. The barrel is also stamped “Eagle/623 twice, along with another eagle over a swastika and a large “R”. Curious little stampings may be observed on the front right of the trigger guard bow. The left side of the trigger bears a Delta stamp. The grips read “FB” on the left and “VIS” on the right, “FB” for the name of the factory, and “VIS” for the name of the gun, meaning “power” in Latin. The overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is about 90%. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The magazine is unmarked. The original grips are in great shape. The bore is sharp and bright. The action is excellent. Here is a fantastic example of one of the best pistols of World War II from occupied Poland! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4-¾ inches.
