Fine IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS Revolver
.32 S&W with Original Picture Box!
Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Safety Automatic Double Action Revolver in .32 S&W, made circa 1900 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This fine revolver comes very well-preserved in its original picture box, complete with directions for use and repair, as well as their “HAMMER THE HAMMER” slogan regarding the safety of their revolver design. The name “Roland Zeictler” is written on the inside of the box.
The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is about 95%. The original blue finish on the trigger guard is about 90%. The case colors on the hammer and trigger are vibrant. The markings are clear. The original trademark owl grips are fine. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent. Here is a really nice example of the “everyman’s” concealed carry revolver of the early 20th Century!
