A LARGE HOWDAH PISTOL, Manufactured circa 1840's to 1850's. These Officer's pistols featured floral scroll engraving on the locks, trigger guard, tang and hammer..
Iron swivel ram rod, with a Figured Walnut butt, and butt-cap with hinged trap-cover also is engraved.
The 8 inch .60 Caliber Octagonal Damascus pattern barrels are Rifled....
The grip handle has a crack that is secure, both locks are mechanically fine.
