Description:
This is a nice example of the U.S. revolver used during the Spanish American War and the Philiippine Insurrection at the turn of the 19th Century and until 1911 when the Colt Government .45 Auto was adopted.  As is usually the case, serial numbers are mixed, but there are two unusual things about this gun.  The cylinder carries all six numbers, serial 115260, indicating that it was likely a component of a New York Militia revolver, one of 800, that were redone and issued in 1896, before the 5 1/2 inch barrel artillery variation was adopted.  Secondly, the wood grips have not been redone, and still show their original cartouches and date, 1890.  Most likely, they were from a gun that showed little or no wear and did not need to be refinished.  The gun shows about 60% blue finish, has a very good bore, and a tight action.  It is a 100% original "Artillery",and correct in every way.                                                      PRICE:    $7,500             We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.   PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual FirearmFirearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.       (sales at am-firearms)
