Original antique Remington 6 shot percussion revolverr. Caliber 44. Fine bore and chambers. Model of 1858. Fine condition, retains most original blue finish. Mechanics are fine. Barrel address clear w/"NEW MODEL". Small U.S. military inspector letter stamps on various parts. Cartouche on left wood grip but shows wear. All original parts. Serial number 10615x. The Remington model 1858 second only to the Colt Model 1860 army during the Civil War. The Remington was well liked because of its solid frame design. Thousands went West after the Civil War. Bill Cody "Buffalo Bill" carried a M1858 in his early years as an Army scout. He later said "It never failed me". This is a very nice original Remington. Sold as a collectors item and not intended for actual firing due to its age as an antique firearm.
