Sale Pending This Kentucky rifle is from the Golden Age period made by Jacob McWhirter of Pennsylvania. The rifle was broke long ago at the center of the lockplate. The lock and side plate are missing. The barrel is a half octagon, half round of about 50 caliber measuring about 40 inches. There are raised carvings on both sides of the butt stock, a beautiful and stunning silver eagle plate on the cheek rest, a silver heart inlay on the left side and a stunning patch box. The original ramrod is present and in fine condition. The cast brass trigger guard is also present and in fine shape. This historic rifle is in need of a restoration.
