Description: Arthur Turner 12 Bore SxS EJECTORS, 6LBS 6OZ General Specs: Sheffield England, Year 1946, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 16544 Arthur Turner guns were made in England and the firm had a long and respected presence in the fine gun market. Arthur Turner apprenticed under a well-known gunmaker C.H. Malehem and eventually took over the business in 1910 and passed away in 1941. The business remained in family hands until 1985 when they ceased operations. This fine box lock ejector 12 bore, sn16544 made in 1946, is in very fine original condition, mechanically excellent in every way with strong, well-timed ejectors, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin, lever still right of center, excellent bores, near perfect screws, tight ribs, and sound wood with no cracks or repairs. The gun is still in proof with factory bore diameters and factory 2 ½” chambers. This is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, as our gunsmiths have stripped the action and forend iron to its smallest part, cleaned all in the Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected all parts for soundness and function, lubricated and reassembled the gun. WE PROVIDE A 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY ON THIS GUN. The gun handles very nimbly, as you would expect from a 12 bore that weighs in at 6lbs. 6oz., which is lighter than most American 20ga. guns. The 28” barrels are choked IC/F, making for a perfect upland gun for flushing birds. Utilize spreader loads from RSTSHELLS and you now have the perfect early season grouse gun that will excel equally well on the sporting clays course with your shooting buddies. With over 70 seasons under her belt, she is still ready for another few generations of use without a hick-up. The English guns have become very sound investments as the guns can be bought for a very fair price and are of the very highest quality. The European and American guns in this price range just cannot compare to this gun, especially anything new in the box. Thanks for looking!
