Description:
Used. This Remington-Elliot High Side Frame Derringer is an uncommon firearm used when vest pistols were in style between the Civil War and the turn of the century.  A small tab is pulled forward to relase the hinged barrels and the pistol is cocked by pushing the ring trigger forward. The frame is marked "Manufactured by E. Remington and Sons Ilion N.Y." on the left side of the barrels and is marked "Elliots Patents May 29, 1860  Oct. 1, 1861" The "High Side" frame is seen less frequently than the "Low Side" frame models.  Action is fully functional with approximately 17,500 produced between 1863 and 1888.
