Astra (Nazi) Mdl. 600, Cal. 9mm, Ser.65XX. (Nazi Contract). Mdl 600, Cal.9mm, Ser 44XX.
During the second half of WWII the Nazis gave two contracts to the Astra company of Spain for shipments of Model 600 guns, the first of which was for 10,000 units. This shipment was delivered to the German naval base in Cherbourg, France while the second shipment was never delivered.
This gun is serial numbered in the first half of the first shipment. It displays the proper serial number and the correct Nazi Waffenamt. On the rear right side of the frame it is stamped Eagle/WaAD20. The condition of this gun is rather good. The original factory finish is an honest 90-95%. There is only the very slight sharp edge silvering and three very small areas of pinpricks. One on the left side of the slide and one below it on the frame. The right front side of the slide also has a tiny patch.
All parts match.
The trigger, magazine release and safety lever assembly are in the white and are is easily 98-99% original finish.
The telltale grips straps have not even started to gray. The hardwood checkered grips are pristine, the only possible fault is a tiny surface ding in the middle of the right panel. The grip screws show no evidence of any use and are in new condition.
The bolt face, feed ramp and slide rails show very little use.
The bore like the rest of the gun lovely. The rifling is razor sharp, mirror bright without even a hint of frost.
The gun comes with one correct Astra stamped magazine. There are very few of these still around and trying to find a better one would be rather expensive and time consuming. It would be great in a collection and super on the firing line........$1195
