Description:
From a mid-west sale, a 1906 Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle 38 WCF (38-40) in excellent condition. The stock has no cracks or chips and has a nice finish, with a Winchester steel crescent butt plate with trap door (see photos). 24" octagon barrel with a good bore (I have not cleaned this gun) and what I can see of the bore looks good to me. The metal finish has a brown mottled patina with no rust or pitting and the gun functions as it should with no problems. The old leather saddle scabbard is solid with good stitching and tight rivets however two of the hold down straps have deteriorated (see photos).
