Personal Check with hold Description: This is one of the Colt SAA Cavalry Revolvers that was modified to a 5 1/2" barrel and became what is called an "ARTILLERY MODEL". The frame is #56756, the triggerguard is #49034 and was inspected by Henry Nettleton, (H.N.), the Backstrap is #47646. The cylinder is marked on the back side "R.A.C.", and the barrel is also marked R.A.C. along with a "P".  These revolvers with replaced Barrels and Cylinders are described in "CAVALRY & ARTILLERY REVOLVERS", by  John A. Kopec and H. Sterling Fenn. (page 97).  The finish is mostly grey patina. Some bluing remains in the barrel flutes. The same obove mentioned reference book also, talks about "Blued" frames., an this may have been blued.  Has the three line  patent markings along with  the "U.S." stamped on left of frame. Barrel address reads, "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.Co.HARTFORD CT.U.S.A.". Action is strong and indexes properly. Hammer firing pin is a later, concave style, replacement which is also mentioned on page 107, of the above mentioned book.  Has a very good bore with strong rifling. The   grips have no markings and show some smoothing from holster wear and a well done repair on upper left side, that is solid,  along with some handling marks.  I accept USPS Money Orders , Bank Cashier's Checks, or Personal check, with shipping hold.
