Description:

This Colt Model 1873  SAA U.S. Cavalry  comes with  Colt factory archive letter, stating that it was shipped to  United States Government on November 19, 1884 in a shipment of 150  like arms.  The letter confirms that it was  shipped with  factory  blued finish. Stocks and Barrel length not specified, but usually indicates 7 1/2" Barrel with Walnut stocks.  Serial #112290.  The revolver is chambered for .45 Colt. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.”  The left side of the frame is marked “PAT.SEPT.19.1871/JULY 2.72. /JAN 19.75”. , followed by "U.S.". 
The overall condition is blue/brown  patina  finish. Shows some remnants of "case coloring" on the frame.    Has a few small  marks in metal finish. Markings are clear and legible. All serial numbers match, including  the cylinder, which bears the last 4 digits "2290", of the serial number. The  walnut grip is in very good condition,  showing handling marks and some sharp edge wear.along with a groove carved in it for perhaps a lanyard strap?  Both sides of grip display light "cartouche" markings. The bore is fair to good, showing some very fine pitting.  The action is strong and indexes properly.Buyer Pays $25.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
