Description:
Standard rifle configuration with a 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 38 WCF caliber. Full length mag tube and crescent style butt plate. Over half of the original blue remains on barrel, mag tube and receiver with the balance a plum/gray patina. There is some edge wear to the high points. Dust cover looks nice. Nice traces of case color on hammer. A blade front and original sporting rear sight. The wood is very good with overall scattered minor dents and dings. Crisp action with a bright shiny bore should make this a fine shooter. At least that is what George Piper thought. He liked this rifle well enough to put his name on it! The top flat on the barrel is stamped "GEO. PIPER." A good looking Model 1873 Winchester with some honest wear in a desirable configuration at an affordable price.
