SPANISH Eibar Antique Double Barrel SxS PISTOL
Large .67 Bore Dated 1862 Produced in EIBAR Spain
Here we present an antique Spanish Double Barrel SxS Percussion Pistol, made by Blas Treviño in 1862 in Eibar, the Basque Region of Spain. Eibar has long been known for their arms manufacturing. A pistol like this would have been worn on the belt and loaded with .67 caliber ball or perhaps even buckshot, making it even more effective at very close ranges. The barrels are stylishly inlaid with gold and read “EN EIBAR/FABRICA DE BLAS TREVINO/AÑO 1862”. The iron hardware is nicely engraved.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a smooth, dark patina. The markings are clear and legible. The bores are dark and smooth. The stock has a replacement pistol grip attached. The action is strong.
