Bushsenmacher Meister translates to Master Gunmaker and this is a very fine, well-built shotgun. Proof dated July 1941 this gun was made during WWII and waffenmacht eagle proof marks are visible on the barrel flats. The barrels are factory chambered for 2 ¾” shells, they are 28 5/16” long with both of the bright/shiny bores being choked extra full, .040”. The barrels are secured to the action with two underlug locks, a Greener style cross bolt AND side clips! The gun is very tight and mechanically excellent. The coin-finished receiver is intricately engraved in a very tight, fine floral pattern making for a very handsome shotgun. The buttstock has a Prince of Wales style grip, right hand raised cheek piece and has a 14” LOP to the horn buttplate/ 1 ½” DAC and 2 ¾” DAH. There is some bug damage to the buttplate and the tang of the horn trigger guard otherwise this gun is 97% overall. Beautiful SxS weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. SOLD |
